Folk have been asking me when I'll next be offering a one-day creative writing workshop. This is it, the first Saturday workshop of 2012 ...

Whether you live in London, Sussex, Kent or elsewhere in the South East, you can easily join us for this 11 am to 4 pm workshop which leaves plenty of to-and-fro travel time for a day trip to lovely Lewes. Indeed, for those of you who live farther afield, you could visit Lewes for the weekend and stay in one of the many bed & breakfasts or fine hotels which surround us. If you've yet to join us Behind the Blue Door, we're located smack in the center of town, just a five-minute walk from the railway station, with direct trains from London, Hastings, Eastbourne, Brighton/Hove, etc.

This workshop is ideal for those who are brand-new to writing as well as for experienced writers. We'll focus on the creative process throughout, and enjoy brief meditation sessions and inspiring readings to help us ground ourselves in the present moment and discover, or rediscover, the writer within. We'll also pave the way for you to develop an ongoing writing practice.

As countless of my students have discovered, a writing practice can help us to center ourselves within the craziness of our day-to-day lives, and to reawaken our naturally creative selves. For instance, we can begin to ask and respond to questions, big and small, in an open-ended way which can, in turn, help us to bring awareness to those parts of ourselves that might well benefit from a good airing out. We can thereby begin to process through those sometimes stuck aspects which limit us, which keep us unnecessarily constricted, and feeling less than whole.

The workshop fee is £45. To book, click here. As always, you can pay via cheque or online bank payment (if the latter, please email me to request my bank details).

The workshop also includes a one-hour break (approx. 1–2 pm) during which you're free to go for lunch at any one of a number of splendid restaurants, cafés or sandwich shops which are located in the center of Lewes. Or, you're welcome to go a-wandering around town if you'd prefer to spend some quiet time alone before the second half of the workshop.

In closing, please remember that the I Ching course begins this Friday (8–10 pm). Click here to book for this or the above writing workshop. And, as always, I'd greatly appreciate your helping us to spread word of these classes as well as my one-to-one creative writing & mindful living guidance and mentoring services. Thank you.
